My bro in law has recently built a new PC, all appears fine until windows starts, then the monitor just goes black, all fans remain spinning, he has:
7800GT
Pentium god knows what (3Ghz plus)
500watt antec PSU
IDE hard drive.
2Gig Ram
I realise that that isn't much to go on and I have recommended the obvious, cables, check a different monitor, he has onboard graphics as well and he's tried that with the same results. I have recommended unpluging components one by one etc etc. My question really is has anyone else had a similar problem and can offer anything I can try that I may have overlooked before I go and have a look myself?
