Hi,

I have a dual screen setup at work and use Google Earth for my work. Now the only problem is when I use Google Earth it turns my monitor on and off, and only the monitor where Google Earth is. So if I transfer Google Earth to the right screen it starts to turn on and off but the other screen is now fine??

This is a seriously annoying problem!!! I have an Nvidia Graphics Quadro NVS 295 card if that matters. I have also tried turning Hardware acceleration down to half but that doesn't seem to matter. Oh I also sometimes get like fast white lines going across the desktop screen too when Google Earth is open.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Would definitely seem to be a graphics problem.

I do believe you can change the graphics between DirectX and OpenGL, perhaps this will help. Admittedly I haven't looked at GE in quite a while so no idea if the above still applies.

It sounds like faulty graphics drivers or the card, what google earth does when it opens is call the directx or opengl drivers, and pulls resources from your graphics card.
now for your monitor to blank out entirely, to me sounds like a broken graphics card, as drivers would normally just bring up a message saying 'hey! this dll is messed up" or whatever.
If this is a work pc and you have an IT contact well, consult him/her.
if you bought this PC from a retailer then i'm sure they'd have some support options if you called them.
Otherwise (if you have administrative privilages) go to control panel -> administrative tools -> log viewer (application logs), open google earth, restart your computer if you cannot access your computer because of the problem and then see what comes up on the log on the exact time when you opened google earth. if you post the offending log here i'm sure someone would make sense of it.
