Finally got all the last bits for my gaming rig;

Core i5 3570k + zalman cpns9900
Asrock Z77 extreme 4 gen3
16GB Samsung green 1600 ram
120GB SanDisk extreme
1TB WD caviar black
Sapphire 7950 OC
NZXT Sentry2 fan controller
HAF 912 plus case; additional 140 and 200 red led case fans

The monitor I've been looking at is the Dell u2412m...

I can't go bigger than 24" (600mm wide) as it will be wall mounted in between two fixed book shelves... and it will be switched via kvm to my admin machine which will benefit from the 1920x1200 16:10 ratio, plus I like ips as the monitor looks good in portrait, both from viewing angle and even Bessel distribution.

Bottom line (I'm upgrading from an old 19" 4:3 screen) does the Dell game ok? I don't want to stick a monitor on that does no justice to the PC.

Is the 19" a CRT? If so the Dell might feel a tad sluggish, if it's an old TFT - stop worrying, massive upgrade! The only gamers I've seen complain about the Dell u2412m are the ones that don't own one or are comparing it to a 120Hz screen.
