Looking to upgrade from my Dell 27" 60hz QHD (1440p) to a Gigabyte 34" G34WQC-EK 3440X1440 VA 144HZ 1MS for more screen real estate and the fact that the Dell I have doesn't have a VESA mount to attach it to the wall with a Ergotron 45-478-216 HX Monitor Arm.
The monitor connects to a DELL XPS 9500 and a Razer Blade 15 2020 at different times as I switch between work and home use. In the future I will likely either move to an EGPU or a full desktop for home usage.
Work Usage: Office Suite, Web Browser, Visual Studio, Terminal, etc.
Home Usage: Casual Gaming - CS:GO/Halo MCC/Valheim, livestreaming occasionally, audio and video production, Photoshop.
Contributing factors:

Contributing factors:
- I want the monitor off the desk for a cleaner setup and more space under the monitor for the keyboard, audio interface, etc.
- Both laptops have NVidia GPUs, albeit driven through the iGPU.
- More screen real estate for productivity purposes.
- I don't have space for a G9 in my office, but likely to move within the next couple of years so would like to re-use the Ergotron with a G9 (or successor) with the heavy duty plate.
- Both laptops have Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort 1.2, I recognise the fact that 8-bitx3440x1400x144hz is at the limit of DisplayPort 1.2 from the point of view of bandwidth.
- I won't use the speakers in the Gigabyte, I have a Focusrite Audio Interface.
