Monitor Upgrade - Gaming

Good afternoon,

I'm thinking about upgrading my monitor which is currently a Dell S2716DG to a 1440p IPS or VA display. I have a few questions if you would permit me.

Would I notice a major upgrade in picture quality?
Should I stick with a G-Sync Module variant or will a "compatible" monitor be enough?

Lastly, with a budget of around £800 what would you recommend?

Because of that being sRGB gamut monitor colour vibrancy would certainly improve in games.

VA would improve contrast good amount giving better black.
But black/dark shade starting transitions would be lot slower and are even called as "black smear".
IPS doesn't have such inconsistent response times.

So VA wouldn't be good choise.

Anyway wouldn't really pay even £500 for 27" size 2560x1440, IPS or anything.
Some of the fastest response time IPS monitors are around £300 or little over.
