I currently have two 19" TFT Samsung monitors, models 913N and the slightly newer one the 920N.
I'm looking to upgrade them both too a 24" monitor (or there abouts) mainly due to the limiting 1280x1024 screen size as its just not big enough for Windows and I think my current GPU can handle bigger screens without any problems (well, when I have a motherboard that works!! :p ;) :D )

What would you guys suggest?
I saw the BenQ at £647, the Samsung at £750 I think and the Dell one for just over £600..

Now I see the BenQ is HDMI compatiable so I assume that can only be a good thing?? Are GPU's coming out with HDMI compatibility now?

Money is no object as I dont see the point in going for something half arsed (if you pardon the time) if it stops you getting what you really want..

Look forward to the suggestions :D Thanks in advance :D

The HDMI interface on the BenQ is more designed for the attachment of external devices like DVD players, TV boxes etc but it obviously doesnt hurt to have it available :) There is limited info about the BEnQ so far and until it's release we will have to wait for more. There is a round up of info about the BenQ available here:

The Dell 2407WFP is well established now and a very good screen. It might be worth waiting for the BenQ's release and some more reviews so you can see how the two compare imo

Many thanks for the reply as I'm just on the verge of looking but wanting to buy at the same time!! I really love the idea of a 24" screen as I should be able to push the limits of the graphics cards I own a little more than what I'm running at the moment..

The HDMI seems a good way to go as if I upgrade with DVD players and so on, I'm sure it might come in handy should I want to take something on holiday with me ;)

The Dell has had a good review everywhere I've looked, but at the thought of getting a HDMI monitor for just £50 more, I can wait :)

one other thing to note is that if you are planning to use the screen commonly for HD material then the BenQ certainly offers a better support in this area. The Dell has problems with interlaced source which makes 1080i a no starter sadly. It is also thought 1080p will be a problem (this is all over DVI btw) and so if you're looking for a monitor which can really handle a range of HD source resolutions then the BenQ would be a better bet. Some more info about the Dell's HD issues here too :)

Many thanks for the replies and I look forward to getting the two new monitors :D I'm sure they will be one of the best upgrades I could buy :)
