well, i was thinking is there much point in upgrading my monitor? will i see any real difference apart from size

the monitor im using atm is about 6 years old, has been on 12+ hours a day everyday, it came with my first real PC from... PC world.

its a mag innovision 17" square thing of some sort, uk713/700p ? is the numbers onthe back. wasnt able to find any info (its using a VGA cable i think, one of the small blue kind lol)

it has volume controlls and HAD an inbuilt speaker, (died sometime 3 years ago)

i have not noticed any dead pixels, but was thinking of getting one of them BenQ 24" LED widescreens, just wonder if i will see much difference in picture quality?

current rig is in sig

That's like asking whether you'll notice a difference going from a Radeon HD 4730 to a 5970... Oops, sorry ;). Actually I'd think carefully about whether the rest of your system is up to gaming at 1920x1080 with image quality settings you'd be comfortable with on the games you'll want to be playing. Monitor technology has moved a very long way in the past 6 years and although the BenQ represents the 'cheaper' end of todays monitor technology it will be largely superior to your current monitor. I do think there are better deals available for less than the BenQ costs and better monitors available for more than it costs, however. It has outstayed its welcome.

P.S. Yes I am bitter today aren't I? :D
