Monitor upgrade

I currently use an ancient Samsung SM-226BW 22" on my gaming PC. I can get a Dell P2417H for around £130 from my work as we buy in bulk but can't see many reviews on it. Presumably it will be a massive upgrade? Is there anything better for the same money?

I'd add another £20 to your budget & get a 27 inch monitor if you can.

Plenty at that price over the next week or so due to Black Friday sales.

I don't really have the space for a 27". Will be a stretch to fit this one in while keeping the Samsung as a second one.

The Dell is IPS but has 6ms response time which I thought was the main problem with IPS screens. So would it make sense to go with that over a TN screen with a 1ms less response time? Playing mainly DoTA and PUBG by the way.

IPS screens are generally slower in response, but have better colours usually.

TN panels are usually faster but have poorer colour reproduction than IPS.

I'd don't know a great deal about monitors though so I'll let someone more qualified chip in.

I did find the AOC G2460VQ6 while searching. 24" 75hz Freesync monitor which looks decent if you have an AMD card?

Which is what I thought but if the response time is near identical does it matter?

Well I went for the Dell from my work for £135 and very happy with it. Set it to game mode and upped brightness and the picture is superb.
