monitor upgrade

Hi i'm looking into buying a new monitor to try and ease the eye strain I get on my long gaming sessions.
My current monitor I got years ago for £80 iirc. The picture quality is fine and it's great for browsing the internet and other basic computing tasks but it sort of blurs a bit with the high movement in games.

I can't afford too much so i'd like to stay away from the latest and greatest but considering my current monitor, the upgrade will be appreciated anyway.

I guess the key features I'm looking for is keeping the fps high and high refresh rates. Maybe G-sync or free sync but i have no idea how good they are and if they're worth worrying about.

My pc has a i5 4690k @ 3.5ghz and a 1060 6gb graphics card
current monitor is 24'' 1920 x 1080

It's been years since i even looked at computer hardware and monitors so i need some recommendations please.

Thanks in advance

That monitor seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. Even slightly bigger at 27'' which is very nice. Maybe a bit pricey but a bit of credit can help with that.
Only problem is I'm unsure of the g-sync and freesync technology. Having both included with the monitor and whether that has any negative effects etc.
