Speccing up my PC to a budget and want to spend all the budget! So which should I do:

- 2x150GB Raptors in RAID 0 and the Dell 2407 24" monitor

or......

- normal HDD for about one third the price and the Dell 2707 27" monitor

It's for gaming - is 27" over kill on a monitor or would it be awesome?

Thanks!

Nic

Firstly try keeping all your questions to the thread you already started.

Would go for a pair of normal HDD's and a better monitor IMO.

Not sure what kind of performance you would get with a 27" monitor.

Started a new thread as the original thread was getting lost and some of the questions were answered. Apologies though will remember for next time!

Re the monitor, both the 24" and 27" have the same resolution, so I would have thought that the performance would be exactly the same? resolution is 1920x1020 I think. The Geforce 8800 GTX 768Mb should run that nicely!

Personally I'd get the normal HDD's and the better monitor. In the future you could always upgrade the HDD's cheaply. But to sell and then buy a better monitor is a pain.

I'd second this option. :)
