So i was looking at getting the U2711 from Dell, but a friend of mine got himself a 55" LED 3D TV and has hooked his system up to it, and plays via that,

Now i wouldnt be looking for a 55" screen, but can an LED TV be used without ghosting etc etc when gaming, i know the screen will run 1080P HD, that most GFX can run, but will it be the same as buying an actual gaming monitor??

I dont tend to play a lot of FPS games no more, its more the MMO's Guild Wars etc,

So would i be better going for an LED or sticking to the U2711?

Does anyone else around here run an LED TV instead of an actual monitor?

no but I use my Panasonic 50" 600 htz plasma TV, set on gaming mode and do not see any ghosting what so ever in fact it is beautiful. and a bargain at £1700 (wife did not seem to think so).

If your planning to game most of the time using the led tv is fine. However if you plan to use office etc it can be annoying and not easy on the eyes.

although I have a dell u2711 on order for work, I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives, don't relay think it is a gaming monitor though more of a graphic designers / photographers monitor.

I use an LG 32" 1080P TV.

No issues whatsoever, however takes a while to setup everything so that it is a good compromise between office and gaming lol
