I bought an Asus PB287Q 4k monitor at xmas
When I turned it on today I got a really loud alarm sound, turned it off and on again and it dissapeared, any ideas of the cause anybody or how to stop it happening again.:confused:

What's the rest of the pc specs? Any signs of hardware overheating?

I'm assuming the monitor has speakers so it's probably just outputting an alert from the pc.

Quite old and slow I'm afraid !
Abit IN9 32X
EVGA 570GTX HD
Corsair Dominator RAM
6750 Dual Core

In the process of buildng;
Asus X99 Rampage/5930 i7 CPU
Asus 980 Matrix, Samsung 850 Pro 512 GB
16Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR 4 2800 RAM
Superflower 1200w Platinum

So I hope it will run the monitor better anyway as it lags when using the mouse being 4K
I've had to upgrade as I haven't been able to play any games for ages. Will FSX run in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Does anyone know?

Could possible be the audio not 100% connected and picking up interference from fans?

I accidentally pulled my speaker cable out by a few mm the other night and it gave a whining sound until I pushed it back in.

It went from a very high pitch slowly going to a low pitch, but really loud and came from the monitor as I also have a headset attached but no external speakers

If its at the post with the initialising then its the interference or static from the system going through the audio so it probably just that you can here it when you have headphones connected and at 100% i don't think its any thing to worry about.
