Monitor will not power on,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, Monitor will not power on, I switched screens in December because my spare GPU did not have a DVI port, Now I have tried turning it on again so I could use it with a new card and it wont power back up.

Power cable works.

Is it old monitor and it was unused/disconnected from wall since December?

If there's no sign of life, power supply or more precisely capacitors, could have died.
Yes its a old monitor 305t, Yes, i removed the power cable to use on the other screen.
No sign, cant see any light on the power button on the front.

cable works because I re checked it with the other monitor.

no sure what to do.

Bad condition/worn out capacitors propably got permanently cold.
At one time Samsung basically built failure timer into their monitors and TVs with low quality C(r)apXon capacitors and bad design.

And looks like it was hot running basing on this:

Recapping power supply board would likely solve the problem.
Thanks, I have no idea of cost and im not sure its something could do (never done much soldering).
would it be easy or cheap to buy the caps have them soldered or would it just be better to put that little bit towards a newer screen ?
