I have an Onkyo receiver (304) hooked up to speakers and an ipod dock which can display video etc.. to a TV. However my set up is in a room where I do not have a TV, so was considering ordering a monitor to display ipod videos/on-screen menu etc.. on. As monitors have different connections than TVs, will this work? Do monitors need PC signals in order to work, or can they work off an ipod dock?
The ipod dock connects via component, which obviously works fine with my receiver, but I haven't seen any monitors which have component. What is the best way of hooking this set up up? Red/white into receiver, but yellow direct from dock to monitor (if i can), or all three into receiver, then video somehow out of receiver into monitor?
If I have to get an adapter for component to use with a monitor, will this affect the quality of the video on the screen? What kind of adapter would this be?
