I am sure many people are in this same position - wanting a new top-spec monitor but being limited by the lack of choice and the prospect of new monitors on the horizon that never seem to materialise

Got an old trusty 17" crt monitor but am moving to a flat soon and dont want to have to carry/move the thing around - budget for a new monitor is £250-300 possibly up to £400 - trouble is that i dont really want a 24inch monitor and the market for 22inch monitors seems to solely exist of the dell 2209wa - which seems to be a decent monitor but i was hoping for higher resolution and contrast ratio

What should I do?

1) Stick with the crt and wait for new monitors (ips lgs and 23inch nec soon?)
2) Buy a cheap TN monitor and sell/upgrade later when new monitors come in
3) Get the Dell 2209wa

Many thanks :)

Yea .. simply preference of size.. guess ive got used to smaller monitors at home and work and at the moment a 24 seems too big for me - i guess that would change quickly with time though once i had got used to a 22
