My new systems just come and I've tried plugging my old monitor into my new desktop but I don't seem to get a picture?!? I have 2 sets of wires that came in the box with my motherboard nd I'm guessing I need to stick them inside the desktop somewhere lol? They're black and yellow any ideas?!?

There are loads of black and yellow wires.

If they have a 4 pin Molex (or two) on one end then that's a power adaptor for the graphics card. If you have a graphics card that needs external power through 6 pins or 8 pin connectors then you'll need to plug some in.

If not and you are running off onboard graphics or low power HTPC graphics card then you won't need to use them.

Most other types of cable come with PSUs rather than motherboards.

Try and describe the cables a bit better, or take a picture.

Are you plugging the monitor into an onboard graphics when you should be plugging into a discrete PCI express card?
