Ok guys ive got the FAH installed on a couple of friends PC's and my own. I would like to monitor the progress of the wu's on the friends PC's (all on the same network)

Could someone give me a simpletons way of doing this apart from going and asking them :)

You can use HFM.NET to monitor other machines. You may need to open the monitoring ports on the firewall on the remote machines if they are especially locked down.

That'll be the firewall on the other machine, you also have to set the other machines v7 client to allow connections from your machine. There is a remote access tab in the v7 client that you need to enter the monitoring machines IP address into.

Then you need to check the firewall is allowing access to port 36330 (I think thats it)

Usually if installed correctly the v7 client adds the exclusions to the windows firewall, but if you are using a third part firewall that might be blocking it, or the windows one may have the ports entered but disabled.

It is allowed in the windows firewall but there is an external firewall to the company. Would this prevent it?

I would have thought that by entering my own ip i would have been able to try and trouble shoot it that way. The other issue is IPs are automatically assigned so i cant specify a single ip.

External firewall shouldn't matter as long as you are on the same network. You also have to restart the destination folder once you add the exclusions. Also check the log file on the destination folder it should show your machine trying to connect.
