I’ve done a title search and can’t find anything on this which surprised me. I’ve always played my ps4 through a tv. I have a ps5 on order and I’ve convinced the mrs to let me turn the spare bedroom into an office/games room.
This lets me have my PlayStation running through a monitor, I have a iilayma monitor from work pro lite model no. XUB2792QSU is this going to cut the mustard? Or do I need to upgrade for the PS5 and if yes what the best around the £200 mark? Tagging you @robfosters as I seem to remember you are knowledgeable on this stuff.

Thanks

I wouldn’t upgrade before you try it. That monitor looks pretty decent. It’s only 60Hz, but I don’t know what the real value is in shelling out for a fast refresh monitor for the PS5. 99% of PS5 games will max out at 30 or 60 Hz anyway.

Personally, I would never run a PS5 at lower than 4K. It’s what the console was built for. Something like the following would be good, 4K, HDR (albeit only HDR400) and freesync, so that if Sony release an update to enable VRR on the PS5, you will be able to use it. I know it’s a fair bit more expensive that what you wanted to pay, but I do think it would be worth it. Why handicap a state of the art 4K console with a cheap monitor that won’t be able to show it at its best? It’s heavily discounted now too.

Thanks Rob I knew you knew your stuff on monitors. I should have said but I only really want a 27inch monitor. What about something like LG - UltraGear 27UL500-W 4K Ultra HD 27” IPS LCD Gaming Monitor - White?

again appreciate your help as I have never had to look into gaming monitors.
