Hey everyone,

I current have 2 Samsung 940BW 19" monitors. I've had them for about 5 - 6 years. They have served me well, but I've been spoilt at work and been given a huge Dell monitor (I don't know the size of it), which is making me realise that coding is much nicer with the extra space.

So I was thinking of upgrading.

The question is do you guys reckon I'll see much of an improvement if I got a couple of 24" monitors or not really?

My main criteria would be - Must have HDMI, VGA and DVI and I nice to have would be a monitor that can rotate between landscape and portrait.

Does anyone have any recommendations for good monitors that can do this, or should I just stick with my Samsung monitors until the very the end?

Cheers,
Matt

Yeah 27" 2560x1440 is ideal for programming. If you want that many connections I would go for the DGM rather than the Hazro though. Hazro's multi input version (the HZ27WD) isn't even sold by OCUK anymore it seems. Easy to guess as to why, the DGM offers a very similar experience but at 60% of the price. Keep in mind that VGA and HDMI can't do the native resolution.

If you want to go the 2x 24" route there is only one monitor to consider imo, the Dell u2412M. TN panels look horrible in portrait mode and the Dell is one of the cheapest monitors of that size using an IPS panel and also happens to be one of the best and comes with a stand able to do portrait mode.

If I were you I'd get a MDM11S monitor arm for one of the old Samsungs and buy the DGM 27" and use both monitors alongside each other. The monitor arm will let you flip the old Samsung into portrait mode when you desire to do so.
