Hello folks,

Since the beginning of March, strangely after the Ascendency expansion dropped for Path of Exile, my monitors at random times will go black, flicker, and either come back on or drop signal and I'll have to reboot.

This is happening while playing PoE and Rocket League. I fired up WoW earlier this morning and flew around for 30 minutes and it was fine.

What I've tried so far:

Remove both HDMI and DP cables from the GPU and monitor and reseat
Reseat the GPU
Go back to drivers from January (361.75)
Run DDU and reinstall the current latest drivers

Nothing new has been installed before this started happening.

I don't know what else to do, and I'm at my wits end.

Have you checked your motherboard to make sure it is running the latest BIOS?

Just checked. Turns out I'm 3 Bios updates behind.

Edit: I've never had to update the Bios on any of my previous machines. Whether this is bad practice or not, I don't know.

Why would my PC suddenly start ******** itself having been ran since October with the same Bios?

Does the display only go black while playing games?

Only when playing games. And only since the start of March.

Only time I have seen anything similar to this is when a driver bugs out and the driver restarts itself.
If its Nvidia it usually tells you thou.
You mention you have tried earlier drivers so ... Might be a red herring

My issue went away after reformat, I realise that is rather a severe fix but I was reformatting after win ten update anyway.

There have been two driver updates so far in March if I remember correctly. One for Far Cry Primal and the current one for The Division.

I originally thought it was PoE causing the problems due to the unoptimisation and general buggyness of the game, but when it happened to Rocket League I thought it was driver based. Going back to an old driver like I did with 361.75 didn't solve it. If it was a driver fault then surely the January driver would've worked since I had no problems back then.

Try playing WoW through Steam, I think it may be a steam overlay issue.

Happened to me when playing Elite Dangerous through Steam, works perfectly with their own launcher.

Just done a Garrison campaign mission, no dice. Wasn't on long, sure, but I need to leave the house now.

Plus, I don't think it's Steam. I downloaded the PoE client the other day to see if that'd solve the problem and it didn't. Still crapped the bed running it out of Steam.
