Hi,
I posted a question yesterday and got a lot of help from a lot of users (thanks all) but it also brought up a few other questions. I hope you didnt mind me opening a new question :P

I have a great monitor at the moment and i have no problems with at all. (picture quality, colour etc..)
I am however after a second monitor to sit next to it/replace my current monitor as the main monitor. . It will be mostly used for gaming, watching bluerays and other random stuff like this. Im aiming for a 23/24" 120Hz one that has the same quality picture. I am however worried about (not sure if its called this..) shadow detail. I have had monitors in the past that show no detail in dark scenes or dark objects. That is the one thing i wish to avoide with the second monitor.

What actully causes this?

What is the best way to tell if a monitor will have this problem?

This is the monitor i have at the moment.

If the quality is the same/better id be more than happy to buy them. Ive noticed a lot are saying it isnt the best monitor in the world but it seems the best of a bad bunch. It doesnt have a gloss screen, its in my price range and it supports 120hz on hdmi (yay ps3 :D)

Im not really after any suggestions as the guys in the last post really helped me along that line. Im just tyring to learn if the picture quality would be the same as my current monitor. thanks for ANY help you can give. - Adam

If you want good shadow detail, you need to be looking at IPS monitor. I think the Benq monitor you're looking at has a normal TN panel.

I have a fairly low end IPS monitor (Dell U2311H) and even on this, the black/greys looked much better than my previous TN monitor.
