Hey people. Im currently using a Samsung SyncMaster 192v, im on it for roughly 8-10 hours a day due to gaming and working from home, but due to these lengthy hours daily I tend to feel fatigued and generaly don't like the idea of radiating my face all day lol. I know in the long run this isnt gonna be good for my health.

Any suggestions on monitors without radiation (if they exist) or ones with added protection. Maybe newer ones have less radiation?

thanks!

Man... getting a monitor without Light/Heat is going to be a toughy ;)

You already have a TFT which produce FAR FAR less 'harmful' radiation than CRT do.

So TBH you are fine.

As HeX says, light/heat are both types of radiation. What kind of radiation are you worried about? You could wear a suit of reflective armour or something? An arc welder's helmet?

Walk outside and you're instantly assaulted by huge amounts of radiation from the sun, mobile phones, WiFi networks, AM radio, FM radio, TV broadcasts, Satellite TV reflection rays, and so on.

A TFT is the least of your problems ;)

Wrap the monitor in tin foil then ***** little holes to let the good light through :)

More seriously, the troubles you describe sound like sitting at the PC for too many hours.

Make sure that

1) You take regular breaks where your eyes can relax. Pop outside with a mug of tea and let your eyes focus on objects at varying distances. The cold will help refresh you too!

2) There is good diffuse lighting around your work area and a minimum of reflections from the screen.

3) Get your eyes tested to see if you need computer glasses.

I'm sure there are lots of other recommendations from Health and Safety sites you can find.

As others have said, there are no ill-effects from the radiation produced by TFTs. The radiation produced by a TFT is minimal compared to typical daily doses, and will be nothing compared to, say, being outdoors in the sunlight.

Your fatigue has nothing to do with radiation from your TFT, computer, or any other device in your house.
