Does anyone have a mono resin printer? Any drawbacks vs a standard resin printer? Or do they just print faster?

I have an AnyCubic Photon S, but would like faster print times and a bigger print area; the Mono X seems to do both but I wondered if there are any negatives, other than cost and availability.

Mono printers, no real drawback apart from no glass screen protector on current ones so need to be careful with them.

Mono x is good but lots of users report troubles with them in the Facebook groups, seems they are really still in beta test with all these cheap large format printers which is understandable as they were well over £1500 until the Mono X/Saturn.

You have probably missed out on cheapest prices for Mono X now so I would join a few of the groups and see if you think it’s worth it, reviews are all good but don’t really comment on the day to day experience.

I have seen so many people with ruined screens from teared FEPs, the hoods are wrong type of material so they begin to get cracks in them from resin fumes.

6” mono is plug and play but large format different beast.

Thanks for that, really interesting to hear. The Photon S does most of what I need and I can just set prints to run overnight, so the mono and larger print areas are nice to haves. Sounds like it might be worthwhile waiting for the technology to catch up a little.

Any pointers for groups to join?
