Hi Everyone,

Recently invested in an i9-7900X which sits on an ASUS X299 TUF Mark 2

This is currently water-cooled with an EK Supremacy EVO, however, I've been looking at the Monoblocks as the temps on a 10 CORE CPU are understandably higher than that of a 4 core CPU.

I think I'm right in saying that the EK-FB ASUS PRIME X299 RGB Monoblock - Nickel will fit the ASUS X299 TUF Mark 2, as other suppliers of this block say it does fit, I've reached out to EK for their help but I can't find a specific TUF block on there.

Anyone had any experience with this or can tell me for sure if it is compatible?

Thanks!

EKWB configurator will confirm for you : https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/

Although it says they don't have a monoblock for this board or plan on making one, ive just had a look on OCuk and they have this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-w...rime-x299-rgb-monoblock-nickel-wc-9hp-ek.html

- ASUS Prime X299-A
- ASUS Prime X299-Deluxe
- ASUS TUF X299 Mark 1*
- ASUS TUF X299 Mark 2

Id say buy it and if it doesn't fit, send it back.

Yeah, this is why I wanted to check and see if anyone had tried and tested. To be honest, looking at pictures of both boards side to side they are pretty much identical around the CPU and VRM.

I think it will be good..

I did buy an older generation mono before, it’s highly likely to fit if the layout is the same but in this case one of the screw holes on the VRM was ever so slightly moved. Didn’t matter as it fit well without and works fine to this day. Buy it though, confirm and then either fit or return.

Was this on a X299 TUF Mark 2 ? Even with it slightly out does it hold close to the board ok for the cooling?

Cheers!

Was on and Apex Z370 with the older block, holds close enough and I can click my 8700k pretty higher up to 5.3 if pushing for bench.

It fits close enough that the pads were stuck to the VRMs on removal, I think you’ll be fine just something to check on the installation but most likely it will be the same.

Hi,

Just a heads up it seems that EK have changed the compatibility list since the product was setup. This may because of a revision change on the water block or motherboard so may not fit your motherboard.

So perhaps the one that overclockers have on their website is the old revision hence them listing it as compatible ?

Probably the same thing, likely to be one of the fixings moved if the VRM etc looks identical. If you can check that, essentially mines still fine with one missing give most of the pressure comes from the CPU mount - still worth a shot, but not sure if the return would be accepted if the box was opened to check.
