I'm thinking of getting a monowall firewall setup so that I can have my webserver in a dmz, and my internal clients on a core network. I have a few questions though.

If I have my ADSL going into a D-Link modem, with that plugged into the wan port on the monowall box, and then a webserver hanging off the dmz and a switched network hanging off the core nic.
  • If I VPN from the outside world into the firewall, will it land me onto the dmz, or onto the core network
  • Will monowall dhcp and dns serve the internal network?
  • Will monowall nat the internal network (must do??)?

Thanks :)

You can set the VPN up to give you access to either lan or both if you want
as for the other questions look up the details of the firewall but most of them will do NAT and DHCP
