Couldnt see a thread for this!

Getting an amazing reception from reviews, i have never played one before except the demo for 3 and this one. It seems as though they have made it more accessible for newcomers to a degree so i think i will just go for it!

I am playing on a standard xl with no circle pad pro though, cant seem to find one anywhere.

Whos getting this then? Maybe we could organise some groups for online

If my wife gets me a new 3ds like I hope she is. Your welcome to my circle pad pro.

Its essential for monster hunter IMO. You will enjoy the game a whole lot more this way. I'm just glad the got rid of the poxy underwater monsters in m4u

Only played m3u. A mate got me into it. I didn't get particularly far as I just sucked at the water bosses. It can get a bit Grundy when you need to farm 3 x ligiacrus scales for example but it just makes you feel epic when you can finally craft that high tier armour or weapon you want.

Try the demo.

Just ordered a circle pad for myself, going to wait until it arrives to start MH4, going to be a long wait :(

Can i ask where you found a circle pad? I couldnt find any instock for a good price?

^ i dont mind a grind tbh, just want something addictive and rewarding and this sounds about right! I have tried the demo and got on fairly well, i like sword and shield! Dual blades was good too, great sword was way too slow for me

Just got mine from the rainforest

Its all about the great sword for me. Very much a hit and run tactic required but works well for me.

I will try some more weapon types tonight via the demo, greatsword hits hard for sure but for me the moveset is a tad too slow but i bet i could get used to it!

Do you level up in these games and gain more abilities etc as you go?

No. Just get better armour which may give you invunerablitys and buffs to certain things. Aside from hunting the game focuses on gathering resources. Eg honey and farming resources.

I am enjoying it, I didn't like MH3 and to be honest I haven't used my 3DS for a while but this has had me hooked from this afternoon and I'm getting a new 3DS XL tomorrow to accompany it.

I'm still a MH noob though so a lot to learn I think :)

Nice! Im just going to go for it i think! Shall buy it tomorrow :) loved the hammer in the demo, and the switch blade seems really unique.

Do you have to decide on a weapon type for the whole game or can you try others out at any time?
