Monster Hunter World PC won't run on SandyBridge (Core i 2000 series) CPU?

Bought the game, but it would close itself almost immediately after launching. Reading around seem to point to the the bloody Denuvo DRM that's implemented with the game has higher CPU requirement to run than the game itself!! It need processor with FMA3 support so minimum AMD Piledriver (2nd gen FX or later) and Intel Haswell (Core i 4000 series or later)!!

Just want to see if anyone is on the same boat as me...or if anyone managed to run the game on SandyBridge CPU to see if there's any workaround.

There is still lot of people on Sandy/Ivy Bridge CPU's so it would be a bad move by the developers not to support them!
I think it's more likely a bug that the devs needs to quickly fix before more people run into it.

Seem to be referring to the Chinese version on Steam. Tried again this morning and still not working so guess I will have to wait and see.

Also I am using a Ultrawide display with 3440x1440 res, so not sure if it would have anything to do with the game closing itself down right after launch. I did manage to get something for the initial in-game setup where it asked me the create a save profile before I couldn't get back in.

I'd try to delete whatever save data it has created and try again pal.
For what its worth, I'm having a blast with it so I hope you get it sorted!

If you've managed to get in once to create a profile then how can it be the DRM and an incompatibility with your cpu? if it's a clear cut "the drm will not allow a 2500k to run" then it would fail that check everytime and thus it must be something else. Not to mention I loaded in and out of the game about 5-6 times last night with a couple breaks and tweaking settings, and not once did I get a crash or problem with the same cpu. For ref mine is oc'd to 4.4. The only issue I had was that a couple times it got to the 1st Capcom screen and the entire pc bogged down - checking Task Manager and Avast was suddenly maxing out a cpu core, so I left it be for 30 secs and it went it. Try running Task Man. on a 2nd screen and see what's eating your resources and whether it's a simple case of maxing out your 8gb ram.

It was initially started in window mode not full screen when the first initial startup where it says something about making a save profile, and then it closed itself. Have tried to run the game, but everytime it just load up the "black screen", and then after 10 secs the game would close itself.

Have looked on Steam discussion it would seem there are other people experiencing the same problem as well even with newer CPU, so may be it is not CPU related but some sort of game bug/glitch afterall...

Update: Have tried on my laptop with 6700HQ, 16GB ram and 960M and got reminded of the process I been though; on my PC it was right after I have agreed to the privacy thing before the game closed itself before even reaching the language setting nor the title screen and I never managed to get back in again, whereas on my laptop I manage to get to language setting and title screen no problem...

Backup game files from the laptop. Uninstall from PC and restore using a external HDD.
Or redownload the game would be my advice here.
