Monterey on MacBook 12”

Haven’t tried Monterey but the 12” I had before was pretty slow when doing anything more hardcore than browsing the web.
I wouldn’t recommend one for anything more stressful than basic office tasks unless you know for sure that it’s potent enough to run your dj workflow.

Air would be your best bet. Lighter than the Pro but more useful than the 12"

Any of them to be honest. Most recent is best of course but earlier, Intel ones too. They have proper CPUs in them rather than the very low-speed items in the 12".

The m7 12” MB I had wasn’t too bad but the temperature did ramp up quickly and it throttled.
Absolutely loved the form factor though and I never really thought I needed more processing power for the things I wanted to do.

Good heavens don’t get any Mac laptop with an Intel processor. The M1 is a revelation of speed and low battery consumption. The M1 Air battery lasts basically forever and it is mind bendingly fast.
