Hello,

I'm looking to buy a new monitor to use with my 360. I currently am using a Hanas-G 19" (sp?) monitor, but the speakers on it are very bad, also, I've had to remove the stand because the audio cable from the 360 won't fit with the stand on.

I have a Samsung SM2333SW 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor for my PC, but it has no speakers. I use 2.1 creative speakers but when I try to plug in the 360audio cable it blows my head off because I have no way to control the sound levels(the volume control plugs into the sound card while the other cable goes into the back of the amp)

So, really, I'm looking for a monitor, under £200 with a decent set of speakers and a audio port that isn't obscured by the stand.

IMHO the only way you are going to get a monitor with good speakers is to get something like a Dell that has an add on speaker bar.

Every monitor or small TV I have seen that comes with built in speakers sound very tinny.

I have, as an example an LG M227WDP 22" monitor/TV and have a set of Logitech X-230s plugged into the headphone socket (used mainly as a TV and for watching MKV films)

And my main PC has a Dell SP2309W (but for you any dell what has the option of a sound bar would do) and the AS500 sound bar clipped to the bottom. The soundbar is 7W x 2 compared to 2w or 3w of most monitors.

Dell's newer models have a much improved sound bar but it is nearly £70!

Nec also offer a soundbar for some of their models too

Sorry if I have rambled on a bit.

Yeh I've got the M227WDP as well and I'm already looking to get some Logitech Z-10s because the built in speakers are weak!

Is there no way of connecting your 2.1 speakers such that you can easily control the volume?

As you've got the 2333SW have a look at the 2333HD - it's essentially exactly the same with some important differences, namely being it has (decent) speakers and a built-in digital tuner for freeview - I got one for christmas to use as a tv / 360 screen in my bedroom and I can't fault it at all :D
