they were shot on a 30D with a sigma 80-400 lens, settings were iso100,1/160-1/200 shutter speed and F5.6

They're nice and sharp, good detail on the moon face there and you get some decent zoom on that 400mm lens, what does the moon look like at a 100% crop?

Great shots, would it be possible to get do a HDR shot of the moon, would it give better results?

add a little lomo and then some tilt shift and it'll be perfect!

I did a few pratise ones but they are rubbish. Remember that the full moon is on Saturday night.

LOL! I presume that is sarcasm

but i havnt yet looked into HDR just looked at the results that have been posted on these forums and wonderd if the moon would benefit from it.

HDR might bring more contrast to the oceans on the moon without cropping outside of its radious but I guess it would be worth a go. I want to shoot it at 800mm with a 2x converter on the 400 mm

Yes I appoligise, that was my poor attempt at humour.

All these pictures make me feel inadequate, I only have 200mm

But I have just recieved my 100mm f2.8 macro so maybe I'll just have to make a macro thread to make myself fell better....
