Moore's law still relevant?

Just a discussion point really

Is moore's law still accurate as it states that hardware will double in speed every two years, and I have had my i7 920 for three years and it is still pretty current?
Are we at the limit of current technology and are waiting for the next break through? or was the i7 range of processors just way ahead of there time?

It actually states that the number of transistors will double in approximately 2 years.

So has the number of transistors doubled from the 920 to the current i7,s?
