Morbid assistance required

slightly morbid, but I reckon someone here will have an answer for me...

I basically need to find out if someone has died... It's my Mother's Father (long story as to why I can't find out by asking, but I'm not going to go into that...)

Any assistance as to how I could find out would be very much appreciated...

Well he lives/lived a fair distance from me, and I don't have enough info to call up about it (although it might be worth a try)... was just hoping there'd be some kind of interweb way to find out...
