Started having issues with the card a few months back when I played games the screen would go black and I would then have to hold the power button to turn the PC off. I established that when I disabled the crossfire on the card it would play games fine. I did a full format and put fresh drivers on and nothing worked. Anyway, since then I've had 11.11 drivers on and I've not gamed at all as I've basically used my PC for web work.

I decided to update my gpu drivers yesterday thinking it may solve my original issue, (what a fool) it's now made my problems much worse. When I installed the 11.12 I now get a message saying 'No ATI graphics driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning properly'.

It was even a struggle to get the generic drivers for it as when I checked in device manager one of the cards were disabled, so I have to uninstall both from there and then do a reboot. Ive tried putting older ati drivers on to see if its the problem but still get the same message. I think it's AMD/Ati's way of screwing your card bit by bit so you go and buy another.

The card has run cool all it's life as its under water too. I just don't know what to do anymore with it.

Even with the Microsoft drivers on it, I still get it when I boot just before it goes into windows it loses signal and the screen goes black but I can hear the windows log on sound.

I was planning to upgrade my card to one ofe the 7000 series soon but in all honesty I think it's a complete and utter waste of cash. So I'm desperate to get my card working again.

Any suggestions would be great.

Yes that's what I thought so I was just using the card for desktop stuff but I can't even get the ati drivers back on. Its been fine for months just using one core.

If you've done a full software wipe and reinstall, only thing left to suggest is to unplug and replug everything and reset your bios to defaults to see if that does anything. If not it defiantly sounds like a borked card.
I've found since RoHS my hardware generally dies far quicker than my older gear. Still got a 486 that works, my old school athlon x2/x1900xtx setup stopped working like yours did.

Great.... I can not for the life of me see why I can't get ati drivers on now when one core has been fine for the last 2 months. Deffo looks like something has intentionally screwed it up. Think I'll move over to the green team.

Thanks anyway.
