more-bhp.com > paradigm?

Not heard of them before. I've just done mine with the Shark Performance STS device (bit like Bluefin).

I did indeed get my A6 (2.0T FSI) remapped by them. Friendly bunch of guys and were happy for me to take the car out before handing over any cash. I also used their licensed VAG-COM cable to do a bit of tinkering before they did my remap.

Nothing but praise for them, and they will also be there to diagnose problems that arise after the remap :)

They really seemed to know their stuff too, I got chatting to them whilst waiting for the remap to complete. Would definitely go back.

It was based off a 2.0T A4 map, they had never done a 170PS variant of this engine before, and it was tweaked slightly (to LOWER the output compared to the map that would have been applied to the 200PS version).

If only I had more than one tiny little side mount intercooler :(

How come you don't fancy R-Tech? They truely are very clever with 1.8t's.

Heard good things about Carbon Tuning in Manchester also, real nice guys to speak to, potentially more "pro" in their approach to their customers than R-Tech.

I'm still weighing up the options at the moment.

more-bhp.com are convenient as they are only 10ish miles away!

Had my Skoda done here Phil. About 5 years ago now, was £200 and have had no issues.

Awesome, feedback i was looking for.

As i say, i've done some searching on them and good feedback comes back (particularly from the 1.8T Golf owners). For £199 its a pretty good price for a Stage 1.

Yeah, I was pleased after I had it done, still pulls just as well now.

Can only recommend do a good service etc on it beforehand just so you know alls in check.

:D

Will send them an email and do some enquiring, if i decide to go stage 2 will need to see if they are capable of doing that!

Make sure they give your car a "health check" like most others do for the money, do you get a rolling road before and after run too and rolling road used for diags before they map your car?

You do with R-Tech and Carbon Tuning, you get what you pay for... if they plonk a map on and you have boost leaks, bust vacuum pipes and all that then you've paid 200 quid to not get the best from your car opposed to £250 to ensure its spot on with BHP proof.

I don't know much about more-bhp's offer thats all :)

Ooooo, More-BHP do a map for the Polo 1.4. 86bhp --> 100bhp is quite a large increase for a normally aspirated engine.

I'm nervous though as my DSG gearbox already needs a new clutch kit under warranty.

EDIT: Damn. The map is for the older type 9N Polo. Not the new type 6R (2009+).

No RR, but plenty of pre-map diagnostics, and as much of a drive as you want to do before and after.

Having a RR I found invaluable. The first place I took my car to just stuck a map on, it had problems which didn't show up on the diagnostics and I was driving round with an unknown level of tune. After a week I took it back and got a refund, then went to see someone else who had a RR and better knowledge. It was very reassuring seeing the before and after figures and AFR. It validates what has actually changed in the engine as opposed to how different it feels.

Went to HLM Tuning, Hamish is a pretty clued up and nice guy. Cost me £300 for a map and before/after dyno - think we had like 6 runs on the dyno in the end.

Here's my graph which shows the gains and how the power is delivered, I wouldn't go without it.
