My ppd has taken a dive of about 1,000 with the 1.19core + these despite an o/c:(

Same - 5754 and 5755 both loosing me ~1000 points per unit. Worse than the low points is the huge heat! My poor GX2 is getting a little hot under the collar despite the 100% fan speed... I thought it was a little odd not seeing any of the new WUs - pretty much had only 5506s and 5015s over the last week. Bit hit with a double whammy of new WUS this morning though...

Had a 5757 and a 5758 this morning for 3950ppd same as Pilgrim

still better that the 5749 I've got now :(

Avg. Time / Frame : 2mn 25s - 3044.86 ppd.

Edit: What card and OC you running Pilgrim?

The way I look at it is that the WUs we've been getting are amazingly good in terms of install/maintenance effort per point, electricity used per point and hardware purchase cost per point. These new ones are still really good compared to SMP WUs and I remember thinking the SMP WU points were way too generous when almost everyone on the team was folding with SMP and I was stuck on standard clients getting 100ppd.

In other words look on the bright side you damn noobs! ;)

Personally not so bothered about the points - everyone is in the same boat, and the more atom WUs are obviously good for the science. Its just a shame about the heat! May have to look into a biger case over christmas for better ventilation!

Edit: 5762 doesnt seem to be too bad - less heat and very similar ppd to 5506s (for me at least)

But I am a gpu noob - this 8800gs is the first actively cooled card I've ever owned
(shows you the amount of gaming I do :D)
And I'm in this for the science so the ppd isn't really an issue - but a good grumble is always fun ;)

No idea of temp - both the xpertvision, NVtune and rivatuner temp graphs show Oc
and no idea on if my fan is spinning at 35, 50 or 100% :D
I can here it:therefore it's running - that the sum of my gpu fan/temp knowhow

Noob alert

I'm getting 5720PPD for the 5758 which is only 40PPD less than I get for a 5506. The new Nvidia 180 drivers have knocked off another 250PPD in addition to the 500 that core 119 took - with core 115 and earlier drivers I was getting 6500PPD. :(

new version of gpu-z

No temps or fan speeds using that either - thanks for the link btw, as it's much easier to see all the info that Riva.

On a more serious note (and remembering what this thread was actually about :D), my gpu is doing a 5761 for a paltry 384 points and thats cut another 600ppd off my already reduced ppd (due to the new core - which cost me 500ppd)

My problem is I need to pause the client when it's running a 511pts unit and I'm using CAD. To much slow down.
The 480's and 384's are fine. As are using any of my other work applications but AutoCAD 2009 and 511pts WU are not friends :o(

Edit -
PNY 8800GT 256MB
As a new card it's really good value, feel the same about my secondhand GS
Oc'ing the shaders should have only limited affect on your temp but major ppd boost.
