As far as I know, Broadwell will be coming to the x99 platform sometime at the end of next year.
I might be wrong but I have a feeling Broadwell will probably be the last CPU series for this platform.
It would be nice thought if they were also to release Skylake also on this platform after Broadwell.

I know, it's rubbish
Cpu upgrades on the same platform are rarely worth it anyway though (unless its like pentium to i7 on the 1150 platform).
Considering the lowest CPU on 2011 v3 is a 6 core / 12 thread i7, I doubt there will be anything coming out on the same platform that would be a worthwhile upgrade.
