More eclipse questions

Has anybody got any cast iron truth that eclipse throttles torrent downloads,as when you phone the tech guys at eclipse they deny that they do.But judging by the speeds i am getting on evo 4 package i might as well be still on the 2mb package.

Why do you manage traffic on your Evolution Broadband products?

All Eclipse Evolution Broadband products come with unlimited downloads (subject to a generous Fair Usage Policy), but, in order to give all of our customers the best possible service at a competitive price, we manage the traffic on these products so that intensive activities such as such as file downloads, peer-to-peer (P2P) and Usenet traffic do not swamp the network and slow down time-sensitive traffic, such as web browsing, email, gaming and Internet phone calls.

The response you get from tech support seems to vary depending on who answers it; I believe someone on the ADSLGuide forums got a response along the lines of yes they do limit the speed of P2P/USENET as stated on the website, and the speed it's limited to could change at any time.

Yeah phoned them twice and i seem to get a different response every time,i think it is time for my mac code even though i have been with them for only a couple of months.Its just that i was getting used to the high speeds but now i am sick and tired of them telling me it is a fault at my end.ONE DAY I WILL FIND A GOOD INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER.

I read somewhere that they now limit P2P/Usenet to 2Mb between 8am-12midnight. I know that is definately the case for usenet, but I very rarely use bittorrent these days so i wouldn't know on that side, although there was a stint a few months back where i couldn't get over 40k+ on BT.

From Midnight to 8am Usenet downloads at full rate.
