Had to RMA some Corsair memory (tr3x6g1600c9) last year that were failing Prime95 and Memtest.

I only opened the RMA kit yesterday (had bought some new memory while awaiting the RMA to go through - left the RMA kit in the seal packing on my desk until yesterday) and it too appears to be faulty :(.

System:
i7 920 @ Stock
Foxconn Flamingbird GTI @ Stock

Have run Memtest on each stick and got the following errors on two of the three sticks.

I was also able to test the above memory under Windows 7 (hadn't formatted the hdd before rebuilding) and it fail the mixed blend (memory + cpu) tests under Prime95 yet passed a lengthy run of small blend (cpu) tests.

Looks like I am going to have to RMA the RMA'd memory :(

Went back through the settings and corrected the timmings (9-9-9-24 is correct) and voltage (was at the right value 1.65v).

Ran memtest again on each stick and this time all three sticks passed 5 passes.

Little bemused that one of the three sticks was fine at 8-8-8-24. Running all three sticks in memtest now then will try prime95 later on.

So far so good.

Memtest using all three sticks was fine for 5 passes.

Prime95 blend test is fine for at least 25min's (will try a longer period later but at least there are no errors in seconds now).

I will have a spare 6gb kit by tomorrow as I ordered a 12gb kit for my rig in order to test my working 6gb kit in this rig. Oh well, more memory for me :D
