I am new to Overclocking.
I have an ABit IX38-Quad GT Mobo and G0 Q6600 CPU.
I have a good (if there's such a thing) heatsink/fan for air cooling.
I would like to run my CPU at 3GHz but I am not having much joy (mainly because I don't really know what I am doing at present).
When I run Core Temp it shows 36, 25, 35, 24 as my 4 idle core temps.
Is it normal for the temps to be staggered like this?
When I run Prime95 Core Temp shows the temps up to 52, 44, 52, 44 and then after about 10 seconds Core Temp crashes and I have to close it.
Does anybody have any idea why it crashes?
I am using Vista 32bit.
I have installed Speedfan also.
This is showing core temps of 23, 13, 11, 22 idle. Why are these so different to those shown under Core Temp?
