More GFX power needed

AT the moment im running a X1950pro 512mb and it runs COD4 fine on my 19" CRT, but I have ordered a 24" LCD, I think the 1950 is really gonna struggle.

What will be the cheapest improvement?

New 8800GT 512mb

or get a crossfire P35 mobo and get another 1950pro to run with this one?

Specs are

E6300 @ 2.66Ghz
4Gb ram
P965 GS3 mobo

I'd go with the 8800GT, it is likely to be less hassle and will offer a very good performance improvement for the money.

//edit and P35 Crossfire motherboards have one 16x PCI-E slot and one 4x PCI-E slot so not ideal.

8800GT > Crossfire 1950pro by a longshot, especially if you have to factor in a new mobo. It is a no brainer.
