More Info on Opteron ?????

Got hold of a AMD Opteron Dual Core and cant seem to find any info on it, anyone help me out, here is a screen shot of the CPU info

whats it like, should i sell it etc

now this screen dump says its a socket 940 but its running in my socket 939 board and on the chip it says AMD 3700+ now i am starting to find it strange

the code on the chip tells me its a 3700+

Just a dodgy reading by the looks of things, maybe the CPU identifier on the chip is miscoded, what does it identify it as when you boot up?

As far as I'm aware CPU-Z interegates CPU ident code on the processor itself then just looks it up in it's own tables, so either your chip is a new core that CPU-Z hasn't seen before (doubtful) or the code on the chip is wrong.

It should say what chip it is when you first POST.

yeh when i first post it comes up as dual core opteron i think the chip is faulty as it will not boot in my ASUS ASN A8n Premium mobo but will boot up in a cheap £30 board. Also it will not let me install windows have to first install with a 3000+ then stick it in and will then boot to windows.

no going to sell it i think i've not got the time to mess about with it really i think its just been possed by the devil spent most of the day messing about with it when i should have been working plus i'm still messing about with my new conroe E6600 set up
