I went into London by myself yesterday. I decided to go into the City, where there was one particular building I wanted to shoot.

This one:

This building was not easy to shoot. An 18mm lens on the D70 wasnt wide enough, and was vignetting anyway on my Cokin filter holder. The street was only car-width wide, so it was hard to get far enough away. I wanted it for the compo, but I dont think its good enough.

I got a couple of others, but this is probably the best:

Some of you may have already seen this one, as I entered it into the compo last night. The sky really was that colour! And the buildings really were lit up like that!

Comments appreciated (no judges, obviously). :)

I like both of them, nice lighting. :)

EDIT: Actualy, on the first one, is it me or does the sky look a bit strange to the right hand side? Looks a bit smudged or something?

Cool. Sorry about that, it was just on the offchance. I didnt mind goin by myself in the end.

I dont know if I will do the London/buildings/landscape thing as often in the near future - the motorsport season starts soon! F1 Testing at Silverstone on the 27th Feb will kick things off! :D

Both very nice shots, but both feel a little soft to me.
I think they could do with some careful sharpening to really "pop" out the detail in the architecture, which there is tons of.

Pillars in the second shot are awesome :D

Second shot is very nice. Looks better without stands :)
I have played with it a bit (shadows, contrast, saturation) hope you dont mind :)
No worries mate. Looks good, more punchy. The reason I didnt take it that far is it starts to look more articifial than it does already! lol! :)
