hi there people. i just got a new 1gb stick today but when i put it in my pc it takes about 10 mins to boot up into vista!!

my specs are:-

opty 165
7900gt @ 675/1400
GA K8N SLI motherboard with f10 bios
120gig sata hdd
1gb ddr 400

when i put the new 1gb stick in, making 2gb in total, it boots seriously SLOW and somtimes not at all. when it finally gets into vista my mouse is really laggy and everything loads up at a snails pace. i noticed that in the CPU usage on one of my gadgets it says that the cpu is running at 100% all the time. ive tried loading the bios defaults and it still runs slow.

any ideas??

p.s the memory i am using is kingston value and the seriel number for both sticks is KVR400X64C3A/1G

it was just the normal stuff that loads up normally. i dont think it has anything to do with the cpu, more down to the motherboard i think. ive tried putting more volts into the memory and still doesnt load up. im gonna get in touch with gigabyte and see what they say.

im still open to sugestions though.

there both kingston value and the seriel number on the both is the same KVR400X64C3A/1G ive tried them in different slots and and still the same problem. they both work on there own but not together.

ive tried upping the voltages, restoring bios defaults and tried different timings on them both but still not working.

i dont think its a bios problem either cuz im using the latest version for my board, it is a beta bios though cuz i had trouble overclocking using the other bios's.

the proccesses that were being loaded were my background programs like anti virus, rivatuner, speedfan etc.

ive tried booting in both sinle and duel channel but get the same problem.

i'll be doing memtest tomorrow so will post if anything is wrong with them.

could it be my bios version?

the current version is f10c wich i think is a beta bios but is the only 1 that i can overclock with.

it wont let me boot into windows with the both sticks installed, it was a one off last time and i should have mentioned before that only one core was at 100% all the time and the other core was fluctulationg constntly.

there didnt seem to be anything majorly wrong when it booted up, it was just running a lot slower and way more laggy and literally unusable.

has any one else had a problem with installing new memory and it running slower than b4?

i did have 2x512mb sticks in before getting 2x1gb sticks so i dont think the motherboard is faulty.
