more more speed from Graphics card and cpu worth it?

as in worth the risk more really risk the cpu hehe

i have a 2.8 p4 HT cpu 478 i think the socket

worth overclocking that? could that be bottle necking my card a little ??

which is a BFG 7800 CS OC AGP 256 mb

clocked at 490 /1300 ii don't think i can do better on air cooling? any other mods or things ?


also got 1 gig 3200 ram

i never overclocked a cpu before so i not sure how hard it would be lol

Had the same graphic card on my nf7 with a mobile cpu in it and it def ran better when the cpu was overclocked above xp3200 speeds :)

What kind of 3d mark 05 score do you get with the card at stock and overclocked?
 
What do you get running it at stock? Guessing it wont be a lot less if it is the cpu holding the card back.

Seems a bit low. If i remember right i got about 6k with the xpm overclocked to 2.5GHz and the bfg card at stock. Managed to push 7k with the card overclocked at about 480/1300 i think. (and xpm at 2.5GHz)

The xpm at 2.2GHz was roughly the same as 3.2GHz P4 to give you an idea.

Try overclocking the cpu a wee bit and see if score goes up. I think you will find it will.
Not familiar with your cpu but if its good for 3.8GHz as said then crank it up :)
 
Just keep an eye on the temps and move in small steps testing with occt or orthos each step of the way and you will be fine:)

Time consuming but fun :)
