I love the look of the z97 asus maximus IIV hero, an the asus Radeon R9 290 Gpu, just look the red an black look :D

But I would love your inputs please guys and happy new year!!!

These are a bit over budget also, but just to show what you could go for if you spent extra (getting a slightly worse case wouldn't hurt either!)
Do you need an operating system?

Like this monitor looks great ! Which is there better Gpu  is the asus r9 290 any good? I've got abit of a thing for colour coding :D

That looks awesome is the asus actually a good mobo as everyone else is picking different?
And would that cooler be okay for when I come to oc, I do like the nzxt x61

Motherboard choice isn't too important as long as it has what you need. I myself prefer Gigabyte as they have UK based RMA.

I would say the GTX 970 is the better card but in reality the R9 290X will go 60FPS+ on max on any games you play at 1080p (with a few exceptions).

Any good brand CPU cooler will let you get a decent overclock on your CPU. You can go to 4Ghz no problem with the stock cooler just whack the multiplier up to 40.

You said you liked the black/red theme so you could get something like the following:

1 x Be Quiet! Dark Rock Advanced CPU Cooler £41.99

Or buy a cheaper cooler such as the following if you don't mind a silver heatsink:

1 x Raijintek EreBoss High Performance CPU Cooler £29.99

Thanks thereaperguy, think I'm going to pick the asus r9 290x Gpu don't mine going over budget a little bit ;)

Think I'm going for windows 8.1

And is there anything else I will need to get this all running ?

The motherboard is JUST as good, much cheaper and still red. Gigabyte are UK RMA too, ASUS aren't..

The RAM is faster and cheaper (and still red) whats not to love?

The case is better quality (for only £10 more). Its a nicer looking case and also with a hidden fan controller (around the back of the motherboard tray, run from PWM header). More Black/red.. :)

Bigger faster SSD. Also Black due to it being mounted in window view, will look SO nice against the red cover.

The H105 is JUST as good as the NZXT but cheaper (and includes a red fascia for the block).. Epic cooler. :)

Added two SP120's to replace the H105 fans with, as they are a little loud.. (the SP120's also come with red rings) [Red, red, red]. :)

The monitor is stunning and will show the best the GTX 970 can offer. :)

What do you think?

that looks a great build tbf

i have no idea why but i just love the asus IIV hero board so much :D

i don't no which to pick now :eek:

Let's put it this way, my friend for his sabertooth to comeback from RMA had to wait 2-3 months, the gigabyte will probably sort you out within 1-2 weeks. :p
