More news on PS3

I think the PSP also was cut down a little or something like that, can't remember the specifics though.

yeah i think the processor is capped at about 233mhz or 250mhz and it was always expected they would unlock it to the 333Mhz when GT Mobile came out. I am sure there was a method to do it on an earlier firmware though.

like u i cant remember the exact figures though

At the end of the day, this is going to do sod all to the PS3, so what, a couple of numbers have changed, it'll probably make it a lot more stable and a lot more reliable if it is true. It may cause 1 or 2 fps difference overall maybe, and the general public are really really not going to care about it, only the hardcore anal people that want every last mhz out of their systems will really care. It's POSSIBLY going to be an awesome piece of kit overall.
agree with it all apart from the bit ive edited

as for daveyD being a sony fanboy, he isnt

Peoples ideas of awesome can differ, I think the 360 is an awesome bit of kit, and the PS3 has the potential to be that 'awesome', and it likely will, but we will have to see, as I've still not even seen anything that makes me want to buy one, game wise. I want one, but I can't justify the silly amount of money for a console that potentially has no good games that I want to play on it.

However you wish to look at it, although I would say 'a' reason to buy it rather than 'another'...

There are more than one reason to buy a Ps3, it depends on where YOU stand. :p

It was to conserve battery life, the psp's cpu works fine in 333mhz mode, plenty of homebrew apps allow full speed cpu access.
