@ManCave
want more FPS in BF4.

Running at 2560x1080 70fps All Ultra except AA, dropds in shanghai to 55
i have:
i7 3770k @ 4.2 [ 4.6 gives me no extra fps]
16GB 1600Mhz
R9 280X Vapor OC
Bunch of SSD/HDD

280X is 2 weeks old if that [rma from a 7970]
Overclockers Owe me 280 pounds from RMA as i bought the 280x for a faster RMA turnaround

so do i:

1. upgrade to 280x xfire? < this one would less likely now due to case space..

2. get a 7990? [ sell 280x]

3 get a 290x [ sell 280x]

4 get a 780ti [ sell 280x]

5. hope mantles good?:D

so after reading your post & doing a Measure up.

My Soundcard [Xonar STX] would be very tightly packed in. next to these cards so i think that's a no go...

so that leaves

7990 vs 290x? what should i choose?

looks like a tough choice.

it looks like this to me:
7990
- faster but Xfire, Could be slow in other games with no profile
- Could Get Hotter, but comes with a decent cooler
- Old Tech Could stop Support eariler than the 290x but Its not Old yet

290X
- slower than 7990
- Reference cooler is appealing (less heat in case) but hotter card possibly noiser
- could possibly fit 2x reference cards in my case + my sound card
- can upgrade to Xfire Later

really tough :(

although with the 290x you can limit the temps to say 70c and it downclock not to go over this, this is correct?

not that im going to but its a extra feature
