:D:D:D:D only have GoW3 and inFamous so this is great for me :) keep looking at the HD versions of the GoW's on store but could never jutify paying that much for a PS2/PSP game

These collection looks pretty good. I'm thinking of getting the MGS and R&C ones and was also thinking of getting the Silent Hill one but the bugs people are reporting are putting me off that, might just get them for PS2 on eBay.

Ahhh the benefits of the Blu-Ray medium.

Don't forget, there is also an upcoming HD re-release of Ryu ga Gotoku/Yakuza 1 & 2 as well.

Damn I still have to get the Sly and MGS collections - must admit as I missed most of the PS2 generation Ive been loving these remakes

I already have HD Collection of GOW 1&2 and GOW 3, i only need the God of War Collection: Volume 2 which has the PSP GOW games upscaled for the PS3

are these HD collections really worth it? I saw MGS 2 and 3 for £1 and £3 respectively today. The HD collection with those and Peace Walker is still going for £20-25 at most places. Are the updates really worth the extra cash?

Same goes for the Team Ico collection.

I haven't tried the MGS HD collection but the Team Ico one I think is significantly much better than the original PS2 versions, especially when you look at Shadow of the Colossus (Better frame rate and clearer quality). Makes you think this is what the game should have looked originally if it wasn't for the PS2's limitations. Then of course there is Trophies if you are into that sort of thing and the fact it's in an easy all-in-one package.

The only reason I would go for the original PS2 versions if you can still easily get them is for original nostalgia sake, if you want to collect them, or if you want to faff about with the good ol' cheat systems like Action Replay etc. :p

The Team Ico collection for me is one of the best examples how a HD remaster should be done.

There is only 1 disappointment with regards to the HD remakes. And thats the silent hill collection, The rest are brilliant. Both the God of war and the MGS Collections are fantastically done.

The Capcom ones are pretty average themselves i.e. Resident Evil 4 & Code Veronica and the Devil May Cry Collection.

I sure hope to hell that Sega does a good job of Yakuza 1 & 2.

Well if it turns out anything like the Dreamcast Collection then I doubt it. Some of these so called HD collections, they have big none removable boarders and dont scale to full screen.

I found the Prince of Persia HD collections to be the worse. Playing them on my actual PS2 was better, none of the strange echo effect in game.

Makes you wonder if theyll make the PS4 backwards compatible if they are now attempting to put effort in creating these collections that include PS2 titles. Seems a lot of effort late in the PS3 cycle when something like backwards compatibility is more of interest early in a consoles cycle.
