that got your attention... hopefully :p
quick question.

over the course of the next few months i'll be upgrading from my current rig (A64 4000, DFI LanParty SLi-D, 7800GT, 2GB G.Skill, 74gb raptor, 120gb barracuda, XFI Xtreme Music, 580w Hiper Type-R) to a new conroe based setup

in a quick some up it'll be
E6600 - clocked as far as it will let me
2GB DDR2 800 (G.Skill again more than likely)
ASUS or DFI mobo (undecided)
X1900 XT
same HDDs and soundcard... more than likely adding in another 120 or 200gb drive though.
and if money permits i'll be getting a mastercard for the X1900 and running Crossfire

so... any ideas on what PSU i should be getting?

i've had my heart set on the Seasonic S12 600w PSU... but somebody mentioned that its recommended that you use at least 700w for Crossfire?

is this true... and if so, what PSU is recommended.
major requirement is that the PSU is either a) silent or b) VERY quiet. ;)

thanks

Thats almost identical to my new setup and i was looking at the enermax liberty 620w which i thought would be plenty for crossfire, let me know what you decide to get. :)

Well you would be wrong :D

Its not really about the wattage anyway its about having two stable 18amp lines I believe

FSP Sparkle FX700-GLN Epsilon 700W ATX2.0 PSU

Quite a number of Xfire setups are using the above from OCUK (£95 or so), I personally wouldnt risk anything less especially if you have to buy a psu anyway.

I am sure the liberty would be fine for SLI but due to additional power requirements of Xfire I dont think you would be lucky somehow
