Ok, so ive finaly got my machine working.
But i bought tri ram insted of dual, but the guys on here and guys at OCUK said it should run as a matched pair and a single, or atleast 3 singles.
But when i add the third stick of ram in the machine doesn't boot. It turns on, lights go on, fans turn, then a red light flashes on the graphics card. The screen has no signal and then the speeker beeps. this repeats untill you force power off.
Whats happening?
Also the guys at OCUK suggested i try and get hold of a single stick so that it will run as 2 matched pair pretty much definatly.
So if any one wants to buy sum tri reaper ram for a match pair i will buy one off you ;-)
If i can fix this problem.
Thanks.

yeh it was but it only cost me £80 for 6gb in tri and its £80 for 4gb in dual so there no point. Plus the reapers have better cooling than all the dual channel ones they stock.
I just dont know why it wont boot with all 3 in, because other ppl on here have done it and the guys at ocuk said it should be ok :-s

how small is small. Im still not 100% sure on how it all works, ive got it set at 1066 in the bios atm, how far should i up it?
Sorry, i aint to up on the technical bits yet :-s
But im learning.

Hi, iv got to go away till 2moro night. So i cant test anyting extra out now.
I hope ive given you guys enough info to work with :-s
I'll b bak 2moro to continue trying to fix this.
I will try any suggestions posted and then 'bump' it bak up with the results of ur suggestions.
Thanks for the help guys.

*bump* sorry, know bumping is frowned upon but any one got any ideas why it wont boot with 3 ram?
Thanks
If more info needed please ask, desperate to get it working

Hi, i know i didn't post a voltage pic, but i did that bit right.
I Put it in the other space i has for a stick of ram and it worked...but why would that be?
Does this mean part of my mobo is faulty?
It was from ocuk but was marked as *b* stock, but that wouldn't have a broken RAM port would it?!?
Gona try some more differnt configurations then get back to you.
Also, should i leave it all with the extra voltage going through it? Will it make it work faster/better? or will it just ware the ram out quicker?
Thanks again guys.

VICTORY IS MINE!
I found the source to the problem, and there is no way any software or monitoring could ever have done it
The answer?
The kettle plug to the psu was ****. It couldn't handle the initial start up power needed to boot the system.
I found this when i rolled my pc from under my desk and unplugged it and used another one to save messing unpluging and it all work right away. I then booted up with ram in all different places and with lights all on and fans and it was fine, and boots up fine ever time now :-D
Well happy.
Now, does any one want to save on dual channel ddr3 and buy 2 sticks off me if i buy a tri set? I have one slot looking very lonely ;-)
And i can confirm that tri channel runs as dual in am3, or it is for me, 2 under dual and the other is single, but if i can get another single both will be dual (tryed two in the 2nd pair of slots and one in first slot)
Thanks for trying to help me fix this guys.

Yeh, lol.
Man, i think this should now be the 1st thing to check for any one building a new pc who has boot problems :-)
I demand it be added to a troubleshooting guide :-D
I have one more question while tis post is still being visited.
My graphics card is a XFX ATI Radeon HD 4850 "XXX Edition" 512MB GDDR3
Is it worth getting another and crossfire'ing them? Whilst they have them in *b* stock, nice and cheap. Will i notice any mojor difference? e.g. will it alow me to get higher levels of detail etc with no strain, or does crossfire'ing just boost its speed, not its abilities? (i imagin they work as one, giving it twice the processing units, meaning it can handle better graphics/more men on screen etc?)
Thanks
